LAHORE: Former law minister Rana Sanaullah was the mastermind of Model Town carnage that killed 14 innocent people, the police sources made a thunderbolt revelations on Wednesday.
Despite the home secretary’s resistance, Sanaullah ordered to initiate the operation in Model Town, the police sources privy to the case of 2014 massacre shared with ARY News.
The police assault outside the residence of chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, killed 14 people including women and injured around 100 on June 17, 2014.
Further, the sources shared that the noose is about to tighten around the PML-N leader as Model Town case will soon open against Rana Sanaullah.
Last month, the Supreme Court summoned the record of cases pertaining to the Model Town incident from an anti-terrorism court.
The Chief Justice had directed the anti-terrorism court to decide these cases within a period of three months.
Lately, Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned PAT chief Dr Tahir ul Qadri and assured him that the perpetrators of the Model Town massacre will be punished.
The prime minister reiterated his resolve that those responsible for the ruthless killing of innocent workers of the PAT in Model Town, Lahore would get justice.
Earlier this week, a larger bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) turned down a petition by the Minhajul Quran seeking to summon the Sharif brothers in the Model Town incident case.
