SHARJAH: Sohail Khan has a temper and it was put on display here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday night.
With Lahore Qalandars cruising towards their third consecutive win in HBL Pakistan Super League against Quetta Gladiators, their pacer Sohail Khan was involved in an incident with team-mate Yasir Shah, which Quetta’s Kevin Pietersen later described as “unbelievably hilarious”.
Bowling the 19th over, Sohail, who had been trying to get the attention of Yasir on the boundary without success, inexplicably lost his temper and threw the ball on the full towards him. It very narrowly missed Yasir’s head, and the leg-spinner, to put it mildly, was incandescent. It took all of McCullum’s diplomatic powers to assuage the pair, but the lack of judgment from Sohail couldn’t help leaving one nonplussed.
Pietersen, who was batting for Quetta, later joked about it saying this is the funniest thing he has ever seen in in his cricketing career. He also tweeted about the incident.
