LAHORE: 250 acres of state land have been retrieved during an ongoing anti-encroachment drive in the four districts of Lahore division.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar chaired a high-level meeting to review progress of the ongoing crackdown against encroachments and land mafia.
The chief minister was briefed that 250 acres of state land worth around Rs7 billion has been retrieved in the four districts of Lahore division.
The Punjab CM expressed his satisfaction on the progress so far achieved in the anti-encroachment drive and praised the performance of the staff.
Addressing the meeting, he said that retrieval of 250 acres of land worth billions of rupees within just couple of day is the result of excellent coordination and team work of the departments concerned.
It was decided in the meeting to establish ant-encroachment cells in the offices of deputy commissioners in each district of the province.
Sardar Usman Buzdar directed that a steering committee led by Provincial Minister for Housing Mian Mahmoodud Rasheed be constituted to monitor the ongoing operation against encroachments, illegal construction and qabza mafia.
