ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has vowed to not rest and become the voice of the poor and the common man in the government of Imran Khan.
Addressing media after oath in the National Assembly, he said that they will celebrate Independence Day with full fervour at the Lal Haveli, and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman should also be part of the celebrations.
“In Imran Khan’s government, Sheikh Rashid will be the voice of the poor. It will be unlawful to rest and make the Pakistan of the downtrodden and common man,” he said.
Sheikh Rashid said that he will accept any responsibility given by Imran Khan. He said they have been bestowed a more secure and prosporous country and state institutions are much stronger.
He further said they will strengthen democracy and will extend their hand of friendship with other political parties. He said the Pakistan People Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) cannot work together.
Earlier Sheikh Rashid had said that Imran Khan has heavy responsibilities as people have huge expectations from him, and the problems will be solved if they work together.
