KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan will announce a development package for Karachi today, ARY News reported.
The newly formed Karachi Transformation Committee under the stewardship of Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has finalised the proposed package.
The governor earlier on March 29 chaired a meeting of the core group of the committee, wherein different under-construction federal government-funded development projects came under consideration.
Under the package, the federal government would release a grant of Rs8 billion to make the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit service functional to resolve issues related to public transportation. A new master of Karachi titled as “Master Plan 2047” would also be worked out.
The Lyari Expressesway would be opened to heavy traffic with a special grant of Rs2 billion to improve traffic flow on both the tracks. The prime minister would also announce setting up a plant in Korangi to reuse waste water.

The premier will be briefed in detail on ongoing federally funded development projects in the city. He would also inaugurate the renovated Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim in Clifton today.
