ISLAMABAD: Gullu Butt, who vandalized properties during the Model Town carnage on Wednesday, surprised everyone as he hugged Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahirul Qadri upon his arrival at the Supreme Court for hearing of the case.
Butt first shook hands with the Tahirul Qadri and then him in the premises of the Apex Court. The security officials later pulled Gullu Butt back.
Butt shot to prominence when captured live by TV channels smashing public properties, during police action in Model Town on June 17, 2014.
Gullu Butt was released from jail on the orders of Lahore High Court last year, after he was sentenced by an Ant-Terrorism Court.
While talking to media, Butt had put his forehead down on floor in salutation to God and had said freedom was a big blessing.
He also begged pardon from the people for damage he had done to their properties during the mayhem of model town carnage
The police assault outside the residence of Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri killed 14 people including women and injured around 100 on June 17, 2014.
