LAHORE: Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan on Wednesday said that Chinese investment in Punjab would be welcomed by the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, ARY News reported.
Talking to heads of different Chinese companies in his office, the senior minister said that sustainable development in Punjab is the need of the hour and Chinese companies would be provided all opportunities to come forwarded and invest on BOT (Build–operate–transfer) basis in developmental projects.
Investment prospects in irrigation, energy, infrastructure, power, municipal services and other sectors were discussed during the meeting.
He offered the Chinese entrepreneurs to come forward with full faith as they would be given practical cooperation and there would be no red tapism hurdle.
The minister said that Punjab would be playing its vibrant role in the development sector and in the coming days this province will be the top contributor to economic growth of the country.
Abdul Aleem Khan expressed hope that the upcoming tour of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China would open new avenues for bilateral relations and strengthening friendship between both the countries.
Representatives of China Water Resources, China Pak Energy Investment, China Machinery Engineering and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation told Aleem Khan about the amount the companies want to spend in Punjab in different sectors and thanked him for his hospitality and cooperation.
