KARACHI: Days after Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar lost his official car, another government vehicle has been stolen from Karachi, ARY News reported on Monday.
According to details, a Sindh Assembly vehicle bearing registration number GSC-748 was snatched on gunpoint in Sachal goth area of the city.
The driver assigned to the vehicle allotted to Sindh Assembly officers arrived in Sachal Goth to meet friends when armed robbers snatched the vehicle, police say.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in Sachal police station on behalf of a Sindh Assembly employee Farhan Ali.
It is pertinent to note here that Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar’s official vehicle was snatched at gunpoint in the Defence Housing Society (DHA) area of the city on Saturday, September 8.
The mayor, however, was not in the car when it was snatched by armed culprits in Khayaban-e-Bukhari in DHA. His chauffeur was driving the vehicle, a black Toyota Corolla, at the time of the incident. According to reports, the car bore registration number JS-999.
