ISLAMABAD: The information and culture minister of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad will arrive in Pakistan on Friday (today) as a part of his official visit.
According to sources, the minister is coming to visit Prime Minister Imran Khan in order to convey a special message of Saudi King Shah Salman to him.
The Saudi delegation will comprise Ambassador Mohammed bin Nawwaf ul Maliki and the Adviser to the Information Minister.
Federal Minister of Information Fawad Chaudhry invited the Saudi officials to visit Pakistan with a purpose of seeking new ways to strengthen bilateral ties between two ally countries.
After July 25 polls, King Salman telephoned Imran Khan and felicitated him over his party’s victory in general elections.
King Salman also invited PM Khan to visit Saudi Arabia, which he accepted.
During phone conversation between the two, Saudi King acknowledged Pakistan’s importance in Riyadh’s eyes and expressed the desire for close and proactive relationships with Islamabad.
Last month, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman in Mina, as the latter had invited him, according to ISPR.
The Inter-Services Public Relations, in its release, said the two leaders had dinner at Mina. The prince congratulated Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Bajwa for performing hajj. They discussed wide-ranging issues of mutual interest, including regional security.
