KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Sunday said Prime Minister Imran Khan was apprised of injustice to urban areas of Sindh and decided on packages for those areas, ARY News reported.
“Karachi should get package according to its right and 500 million rupee are not enough. It forthwith required 500 billion rupee,” he said while talking to media after meeting the PM in Karachi. MQM leaders Amir Khan, Kanwar Naveed, Faisal Sabzwari and Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar were also present on this occasion.
He said the megalopolis needed Rs100 billion a year. “Karachi has always played its role, now it is the state’s turn to perform its responsibility.”

The MQM-P leader said he also spoke to the PM about devising policy for recovery of missing persons. He said he presented the case of people of Martin Quarters and FC Area before the PM.
To a query, he said former MQM-P convener Farooq Sattar had been invited for talks. He said Farooq would himself determine his future course, however we would be waiting for him.
Waseem Akhtar said the PM was apprised of the issue of water scarcity in Karachi. He said the federal government should give funds for K-IV water project.
He said he had given short-term and long-term plans for the city to him.
The mayor said Imran asked him to consult the finance minister on how much funds he could give for resolving Karachi issues.
