KOHAT: A coalmine in the city of Kohat collapsed following an explosion inside the mine that killed nine miners working inside.
On Wednesday, a blast occurred in a coal mine of Akhorwal area that claimed the lives of nine laborers.
Pakistan army was immediately called on the site for the rescue operation.
Deputy Commissioner Kohat Khalid Ilyas informed that during the incident, 11 miners were present inside the mine and nine out of which were killed at the spot, whereas one was injured who has been shifted to the Civil hospital.
According to sources, the explosion occurred as the gas produced from the coals filled the mine which resulted in the collapse of a part of the mine.
