KARACHI: Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) chief Afaq Ahmed on Friday announced his resignation from party post after his party’s crushing defeat in the July 25 general elections, ARY News reported.
According to details, the MQM-H chief, who was contesting polls from Karachi’s NA-240 constituency, resigned after losing it to MQM’s Muhammad Iqbal and has announced his resignation as party head.
Afaq Ahmed, the founder and chief of MQM-H, told media and party men at his residence that he takes responsibility of his crushing defeat and thinks that the party needs new leadership.
He also announced that he will not take back his decision on party workers or any member’s suggestion.
