RENALA KHURD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Program’ (NPHP) will create employment opportunities for youth as 40 industries were linked with this initiative while 40 more will be associated to it in future.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the housing scheme on Saturday, the premier explained that the private sector will hugely benefit from the scheme as it will build the five million houses of NPHP and the government will be there to provide assistance in the process.
“This housing society will give a chance to those who could never imagine owning a house of their own.”
The prime minister further said only those societies progress which care about its less privileged. “We need to work providing shelter to those who do not have anywhere to live and food to those who are hungry,” he lamented.
Referring to the state of Medina, the prime minister said, “The system in Europe today is based on the one brought by our Prophet in the state of Medina. The state of Median was the foundation for the Muslims.”
“There was no money in the state of Medina, they were poor but they had percipience and if a society is understanding then even God helps them,” the premier added.
Under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program, 135,000 housing units will be constructed across Pakistan in the first phase. 25,000 apartments will be built in Islamabad for federal government employees and 110,000 apartments will be constructed in Balochistan, mainly for the fishermen of Gwadar.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 3,000 units would be established.
The registration process for the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme began on October 22 in last year.
