QUETTA: President Arif Alvi on Tuesday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing National Action Plan (NAP) in letter and spirit.
Talking to media persons in Quetta after condoling with the victim families of the Hazarganji blast, he lauded the Balochistan government’s announcing a compensation package for the victims of the attack.
The president said more work needs to be done towards enforcement of the NAP, adding the federal government stands with the provincial government for resorting peace in the province.
He said no amount of compensation could make up for the loss of one’s dear ones. He said it is the responsibility of the state to protect the lives of its people.

The president said despite many challenges, the Pakistani nation stands united and announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan will soon visit Balochistan.
Earlier, on April 15, members of the Hazara community ended their sit-in against the terror attack in Quetta following an assurance by Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi to bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest.
The minister met with the protesters and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of 20 martyrs, who had lost their lives in Hazarganji blast on April 13.
Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal was also along with the minister during visit to the protesters camp. Speaking on the occasion, Kamal said the government would not heave a sigh of relief until terrorists were rooted out from the country.
