JICA delegation discusses education reforms with education minister Shafqat Mehmood

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Friday expressing his pleasure, said now the education system is getting improved in the country due to endeavors of the incumbent government.

He was addressing a ceremony of Pakistan summit in Islamabad, here today.

The minister said government is committed and striving to bring betterment in the standard of education at the provincial level, which is now delivering fruits.

He added that there are several challenges in the field of education, which will be removed.

Earlier in the month of January this year,Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood on had said a nationwide literacy campaign would soon be launched to increase the literacy rate by at least twelve percent in four years.

“The literacy drive will envisage establishment of 5,000 adult literary and skill centers across the country,” Shafqat Mahmood said while talking to a delegation of a cellular company in Islamabad.

He said under the drive, special accelerated learning syllabus would be introduced and a national literacy coordination center would be set up.
