ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed on Friday said Pakistan Railways is being developed on modern lines, Radio Pakistan reported.
“The country would like to utilize Turkey’s experiences in the railways sector,” Sheikh said during his meeting with the Turkish ambassador to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, who called on him at his office in Islamabad.
They both discussed cooperation in railway projects between the two brotherly Islamic States.
The minister invited the Turkish companies to become collaborate in ML-II and III and Quetta, Zahidan and Taftan rail line up-gradation.
Rasheed said Pakistan Railways will extend its full cooperation to Turkish companies if they become partner in Locomotive Factory Risalpur.
On the occasion, the Turkish ambassador contented that his country has the capability to provide expertise and partnership in housing, tourism and infrastructure development projects in Pakistan.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmad thanked Turkey and its people on extending complete support to Pakistan’s stance in the prevailing situation.
On Thursday, the railways minister during his meeting with the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing, had said that Beijing partnerships would be given preference in new railway projects.
Both personalities emphasised discussion over early completion of the design study of Peshawar-Karachi ML-1 project.
