ATTOCK: Railways police officials have foiled bid to smuggle narcotics by seizing seven kilograms of narcotics during a raid into a passenger train in Attock, ARY News reported on Sunday.
Railways police thwarted a bid to smuggle drugs to Punjab during a raid conducted at Rehman Baba Express arriving from Peshawar.
Two passengers were arrested and seven kilograms of narcotics recovered from their possession, police said. The narcotic was being smuggled to Punjab, police added.
A case has been registered against the accused persons who were later handed over to local police for further investigation.
The ANF had seized 900 gram of ice from a Jeddah-bound passenger at Islamabad International Airport on March 02.

The arrested man identified as Shafique son of Nimaz Khan, a resident of Kohat, who was travelling to Jeddah via Abu Dhabi from the new Islamabad Airport.
On January 31, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had foiled a bid to smuggle drugs out of the country by nabbing two suspected smugglers at the Islamabad airport.
ANF officials said one kilogram of heroin amounting to millions of rupees was seized from the possession of the arrested smugglers. They were to board a Doha-bound flight (QR-633).
The accused allegedly had links with an international network of drug suppliers, claimed the officials.
