LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Health Dr. Yasmeen Rashid on Thursday announced that free mobile medical delivery unit (FMMDU) will provide free-of-cost medical facilities to 300 to 400 patients of far-flung areas on a daily basis.
Inaugurating the FMMDU at at Gaushala Band Road today, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that male and female doctors would be available for patients at the FMMDU. She said that patients could get first aid and all the facilities of general OPD at the FMMDU.
According to a statement released from the ministry, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that facility of free of cost laboratory tests of diabetes, hepatitis, tuberculosis, typhoid, CBC, complete chemistry, ECG, XRAY, ultrasound and other tests would be available at the mobile units.

The minister said that CCTV cameras had been installed in FMMDU to monitor the performance of the doctors.
She said that that male and female medical officers, pharmacists, nurses, ward-boy, X-ray technicians, sweeper and other staff will perform their duties in FMMDU round the clock.
A special pharmacy has been set up in FMMDU for providing free of cost medicines to the patients as well, she said and added that the provision of better healthcare facilities to the people was the top priority of PTI government.
The minister said that that soon 20 FMMDUs would start providing medical facilities to the patients in rural areas.
