ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah says that the opposition will welcome initiatives to bring foreign investment to the country.
“We would back Prime Minister Imran Khan, if he would work toward the betterment of the country,” he said while speaking to the media.
Commenting on the attempts to oust opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif as Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman, Shah said it was difficult to remove the PML-N president from the position.
The PPP’s principled position on the matter of the PAC chairman is clear, he added.
Taking an aim at government ministers, he said if they thought doing politics was a mean feat they were in the wrong. He said it had been six months since the PTI came to power but it had failed to deliver on its promises.

“The government’s performance is evident. They haven’t done anything properly.”
He claimed Pakistan only saw better times during the tenure of the PPP government, adding that when the party was in power it tried to take all parties along.
Referring to the prime minister’s statement about National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), he questioned who had asked the government for the NRO.
