WASHINGTON: United States President Donald Trump said his government will comment on Feb 14 suicide attack in Pulwama — that killed more than 40 Indian army personnel — at “an appropriate time”.
The US president, while answering a question of reporters regarding the attack, said: “I have watched; I have got a lot of reports on it. We will have comment [on it] at an appropriate time. It would be wonderful if they [Pakistan and India] get along.”
Trump made these comments during an Oval Office signing ceremony on Tuesday, he termed the attack “a horrible situation”.
In the aftermath of Pulwama attack. India has been accusing Pakistan for the tragedy without any evidences. Since then, the strains has been escalating between the two neighbouring countries.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan gave a policy statement over the Pulwama attack, and sternly responded to India’s threats against Pakistan. “I have been hearing and seeing on Indian media that their politicians are calling for revenge from Pakistan. If India attacks, then Pakistan will not think but retaliate,” he cautioned.
PM Khan made it clear that Pakistan will retaliate in case, if India starts a war while assuring to investigate the perpetrators of Pulwama attack, if India shares “actionable intelligence with Pakistan.”
Pulwama Attack
On 14 February 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district of India-Ocuupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack resulted in the death of more than 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and the attacker. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed. A local youth named Adil Ahmed Dar was identified as the attacker.
Indian media and politicians have since been blaming Pakistan for the attack without any evidence.
