ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has reached the Parliament House to preside over a special meeting of the federal cabinet to approve the mini-budget, ARY News reported.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federal government is going to unveil the third budget of the current financial year in the National Assembly today. The government would present its economic agenda, spelling out measures to navigate the country’s faltering economy out of choppy waters.
The Ministry of Finance in a statement said main focus of the package was to boost manufacturing and exports, encourage low-cost housing and facilitate agricultural financing to promote economic activities.
The focus was also on enhancing ease of doing business, simplifying procedures for setting up businesses and undertaking investment.
The government has included suggestions in this package from various stakeholders including business community, chambers of commerce, experts and professionals of the industry. The poor segment of the society would get maximum benefit from the package.
Earlier on Tuesday, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that tomorrow is an important day as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led federal government is going to unveil its economic agenda.
“The balance of payments and financial emergency resulting from the previous government’s disastrous economic policy were dealt with in the first five months [of the government]. Now we are giving our economic vision. 2019 is the year of accomplishment of actual targets,” he said in a tweet.
