LAHORE: Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said that quality of education and health has decreased in the provinces due to the 18th Amendment and added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government is trying to make things better, ARY News reported.
Talking to ARY News’ program ‘Sawal Yeh hai’, Fawad Chaudhry alleged Pakistan Peoples Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for politicizing the issue of 18th amendment and added that in fact no amendment could be made in the constitution without consensus.
He said their party supports empowerment of provinces but the powers should be reached to district level.
The ministers said the government and the opposition equally responsible to keep the parliament’s atmosphere friendly. He said opposition came in the parliament with intentions to sabotage the parliament’s proceeding.
Rolling back 18th Amendment not cakewalk: Murad Shah
It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah ,October 27, had said that the policy and stand of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on 18th Constitutional Amendment was very loud and clear.
“If anybody attempts to roll it back I can’t do anything but it is not as much easy as is being considered,” he said and added that the provinces should be made more autonomous instead of making attempts to take away their autonomy. He was talking to media after meeting Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar at his Supreme Court chamber, in Karachi.
