LAHORE: The farmers of Punjab under banner of Pakistan Kissan Ittehad (PKI) on Wednesday marching towards Lahore to press on their demands.
The farmers took to the streets of Punjab province in favor of their demands. The farmers’ groups from Multan, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura and other areas of Punjab, are marching towards provincial capital of Punjab province after removal hindrances at Thokar Niaz Baig.
They want manure and urea to be sold at their old rates. They also want the government to announce the rate for sugarcane so they can begin selling it.
The farmers’ demands also include, repair of tube wells being run by WAPDA, formation of farmers market for their welfare.

Back in month of September 2016, the farmers of Punjab under banner of Pakistan Kissan Ittehad, held demonstration against anti-farmer policies of the then Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government in the centre and Punjab.
The enraged farmers armed with canes and sugarcane sticks and carrying placards, had blocked several roads for traffic in Lahore.
Skirmishes were also reported between the farmers and motorists over the long blockade of several roads.
