LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday received a complaint against former law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan for his alleged involvement in financial irregularities worth millions of rupees.
As per details, the anti-graft watchdog will take action in the case after reviewing the complaint which has accused the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader for changing the map of an underpass in Faisalabad and awarding its contract on the basis of nepotism.
The complainer said the former minister benefited million of rupees to the contractor.
Few days back, the NAB initiated an inquiry against another PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb on accusations of running her party’s advertisement campaign through the plundered money from the national exchequer.
Sources further said the anti-corruption watchdog has sought records from various departments regarding the assets owned by the PML-N firebrand.
On the other hand, in a meeting of NAB executive board chaired by chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, the anti-corruption body accorded approval to initiate 16 inquiries against several politicians, bureaucrats and others, including Pakistan Peoples Party leaders Nisar Khuhro and Sharjeel Memon.
Under the suspicion of accumulating assets beyond known means of income, former provincial ministers Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Sharjeel Memon and Abdul Karim Soomro will be investigated by the NAB.
