ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday briefed the federal cabinet about his maiden visit to China, saying the visit remained more successful than expected.
A meeting of the federal cabinet with the prime minister in the chair was held in the capital today.
He took into confidence members of the cabinet on various agreements and memorandum of understanding signed with Beijing during the four-day official tour.
The premier said China has assured to extend every sort of assistance to Pakistan to help it shore up its economy and state finances.
The cabinet discussed and approved a 21-point agenda and also reviewed the implementation of its past decisions. It approved the appointment of Rizwan Memon as chairman of the Trading Corporation of Pakistan.
It also approved issuance of a license to Liberty Air Limited.
The cabinet approved a summary, allowing the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to issue a tax directory.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered a ban on overseas medical treatment of ministers and other top government officials.
Federal ministers, state ministers, cabinet members and all advisers and assistants can no longer go abroad for medical treatment at the government’s expense. The ban has come into place with immediate effect.
The Cabinet Division has also issued a notification in this regard. The notification says the order also applies to federal secretaries and divisional in-charge(s) of different ministries.
