ISLAMABAD: Premier Imran Khan on Tuesday formed three committees to look after the process of privatisation, energy sector and China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
As per the official notification, PM Khan has constituted a nine-member committee that will be headed by Planning and Development Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister of Law and Justice Naseem, Finance Minister Umar, Minister of Petroleum Division Sarwar, Railways Minister Rasheed and PM’s adviser to on Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production and Investment will also comprise the committee.
Moreover, the committee for privatization will be a seven-member committee to be headed by the finance minister and will consist of Minister of Law and Justice Mohammad Farogh Naseem, adviser to PM on Institutional Reforms and Austerity Dr Ishrat Husain, Abdul Razzaq Dawood and Khusro Bakhtiar.
As the notification stipulated, a six-member energy committee will be set up and Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan will supervise it.
Finance Minister Asad Umar, Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid, Abdul Razzaq Dawood who is the adviser to PM on Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production and Investment, PM’s Minister for Planning and Development Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar and the secretary cabinet division will also make up the energy committee.
