ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan is chairing an 8-point agenda meeting of the federal cabinet today at the Prime Minister office.
The meeting is specifically focused on establishing a task force to bring back the money taken illegally abroad. Prime Minister Imran is being briefed on the technicalities of the matter and a report on constituting the required task force has been presented to the premier.
The approval to appoint acting Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is also expected to be given during the meeting.
Furthermore, the agenda of the meeting includes: Presenting recommendations for safeguarding human rights by the Ministry of Human Rights, consent of appointing chief commissioner for Afghan refugees, permission for abolishing discretionary funds for federal ministries and divisions and the summary for extension in contract of NIPC chairman will be presented for approval.
In addition to this, the Ministry of Education’s task force will present its report and discussion on the establishment of Pak-China joint research centre on Earth Sciences will also be a part of the meeting.
The federal cabinet in its second meeting on August 24, revised working hours in government institutions, abolished discretionary funds of the prime minister, federal ministers and members of the provincial assembly and imposed a ban on first-class air travel by the president, head of the government, chief justice, Senate chairman and NA speaker.
