On Sep 18, PM Khan’s close aide Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari was appointed as his special assistant on overseas Pakistanis and human resource development.

A notification issued by the cabinet division said the PM had appointed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, also known as Zulfi Bukhari, as his special assistant on overseas Pakistanis and human resource development with the status of Minister of State.

However, a week later the appointment of Bukhari was challenged in the Supreme Court.

The top court was requested to stop the prime minister’s close friend, from discharging duties as special assistant to the PM and declare his appointment void for being a dual national.
