Pakistan, UAE mull over ways for boosting bilateral investments

ISLAMABAD: Vowing to work closely for benefit of the people of Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday discussed strengthening economic cooperation and increasing bilateral investments.

The prime minister, who toured the UAW following his visit to Saudi Arabia, discussed joint cooperation with the Abu Dhabi crown prince in various fields.

He also deliberated on issues of regional and international dimensions with Emirati leadership, notably the fight against extremism and terrorism in the region and world, by sustainable strategies to root out the menace.

Imran Khan elaborated upon his vision of a peaceful neighbourhood and his government’s efforts to assist Afghanistan in peace and stability.

He also briefed Mohammed bin Zayed on his desire for peace and stability in the region and especially for dialogue with India for settlement of all disputes, especially the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia and the UAE for extending hospitality to the PM during the official visit.

The FM, who accompanied Imran during his trip, on his return back home shared his sentiments in a series of tweets.

He in particular thanked Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for providing the delegation an opportunity to enter Kaaba and Roza-e-Rasool (SAW).

He said he would like to thank the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for honouring them with the opportunity to enter the Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) and Khana Kaaba and offer nawafil at Bab-e-Tauba. He said there could be no greater honor for a faithful.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pak-Saudi relationship has a strong foundation rooted in decades of mutual understanding, support and cooperation.
