ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for National Health Services Aamer Mehmood Kiani on Thursday invited Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman Umar Saif and his team to automate and introduce innovative technologies to federal health setup.
During the meeting, PITB Chairman Dr. Saif presented multiple successful initiatives that have been implemented by PITB in Punjab including the revolutionary Hospital Information Management System (HIMS).
The PITB chairman told the minister that the HIMS system was presented to reduce the load on big hospitals such as PIMS and Polyclinic and has successfully been implemented in 25 District Headquarter Hospitals in Punjab.
He also proposed automated managing of the workflow of patients as a key factor in reducing the patient load.

The federal minister appreciated the innovative efforts implemented by PITB and encouraged them to work with the federal health setup to improve access of the best health facilities to the common man.
The minister said that all the health facilities in Islamabad territory will be integrated using stat of art. Information technology integrated ambulance system and bed registry will also be established in capital city.
The Punjab Information Technology Board, an autonomous body formed by Government of the Punjab. The board was formed with the purpose of mmodernizing the governance techniques through transparency induced methods but also at increasing the digital literacy of the citizens – among many other services.
