ISLAMABAD: President-elect Arif Alvi and Finance Minister Asad Umar’s Twitter exchange after the presidential elections has amused every Pakistani the micro-blogging site.
Soon after provisional results showed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader is elected as the 13th president of Pakistan, party leader and finance minister Asad Umar not only congratulated him but reminded him about a “long overdue treat”.

Arif Alvi thanked Asad Umar but also reminded him of his responsibilities as finance minister in a friendly way.
“Thanks, good that you reminded me of that overdue treat, now its my responsibility, but brother, reviving economy is something only you can do. Our hopes are riding on you and your team, my friend. I pray that you succeed,” wrote Alvi.
Twitterati enjoyed the exchange and did interesting comments on the conversation.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan also tweeted an old photo of him with Arif Alvi to congratulate the president-elect.

PTI’s founding member Arif Alvi edged out PML-N backed chief of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), Fazlur Rehman and senior PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan in the presidential race today by garnering more votes than both his rivals combined.
The ECP, in a press release, said that a total of 1,110 voters participated in the presidential polls held simultaneously at the Parliament House and the four provincial assembles today. Of the total votes cast, 27 votes were declared invalid.
