ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed party legislator Shibli Faraz as leader of the house in Senate, ARY News reported on Saturday.
According to a letter sent to the Senate Secretariat by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, the PM has appointed Shibli Faraz to represent the government in the upper house of the parliament.
Elected to the upper house in March 2015, Shibli Faraz also serves as chairperson of Senate’s special committee on circular debt and commerce and textile.
A PTI stalwart, Faraz is the son of legendary Urdu poet Ahmed Faraz.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has also nominated Raja Zafarul Haq as its opposition leader in Senate.
