KARACHI: Sindh governor designate Imran Ismail on Monday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would have working relationship with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for development in the province but would not let them have a free ride in the Sindh Assembly.
“The PPP is our rival party, but this should not affect development work. I have offered for a working relationship, however we do not need their vote in the National Assembly,” he said while talking to media at Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) headquarters in Bahadurabad.
He said as a governor he would play the role of a bridge between the Sindh government and federal government.
The PTI leader offered the PPP to help them bring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-like reforms in the Sindh police.
He said his party would ensure transparency of development projects through third party audit. He sought the MQM-P’s help in implementation of development projects in the megalopolis.
The Sindh governor designate said that he would take all along to serve the people of the province.
He said joint opposition in the Sindh Assembly would take part in the election of leader of the house, speaker and deputy speaker.
He said joint opposition had decided that candidate for the election of leader of the house will be from the Grand Democratic Alliance, for speaker from the MQM-P and for deputy speaker from the PTI. Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly would be from the PTI, he added.
