MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government will address the water issues faced by the country.
Talking to media persons after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers in Multan, he said the water shortage is a serious matter not only for Pakistan but also for the whole region.
The minister said all the four provinces are in agreement over the construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam.
About creation of new provinces, he said two-third majority in the parliament is required for establishing new federating units.
Commenting about Dr Afia Siddiqui, the minister said she is daughter of the nation and they have made discussion at all important fora over the issue.
To a question, he said the world is well aware about the atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian forces on the people in occupied Kashmir.
Mr Qureshi said Pakistan wants to address the core issue of Kashmir in a peaceful manner through dialogue with India and hopefully the latter would reciprocate Pakistan’s offer for talks.
He said Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Arif Alvi for the post of president of Pakistan and added that Pakistan Peoples Party should also support the PTI nominee.
