PM Imran invites India to dialogue on Kashmir, initiate trade ties

Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan came up with a very significant tweet, on Tuesday, inviting arch-rival India on the dialogue table to resolve bilateral conflicts including Kashmir issue.

Mr. Khan also proposed India to initiate trade with Pakistan as a means of bridging differences between neighboring countries and alleviating poverty from the subcontinent.

“To move forward Pakistan and India must dialogue and resolve their conflicts incl Kashmir: The best way to alleviate poverty and uplift the people of the subcontinent is to resolve our differences through dialogue and start trading.” he wrote.

Moreover, as Navjot Singh Sidhu received a severe backlash from his countrymen, Premier Khan again took to Twitter to support Sidhu’s gestures of peace and love in his recent visit to Pakistan for attending premier’s oath taking ceremony.

Newly-elected chief executive of the state tweeted “I want to thank Sidhu for coming to Pakistan for my oath taking. He was an ambassador of peace & was given amazing love & affection by ppl [people] of Pakistan.”

He reprimanded India’s hostile reaction to Sidhu’s visit, saying “Those in India who targeted him are doing a gt [great] disservice to peace in the subcontinent – without peace our ppl [people] cannot progress.”

It is pertinent to mention that today, a sedition case was registered against ex-Indian cricketer and a sitting minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu, for hugging Pakistan army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the oath ceremony of new Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Congress leader and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu was slapped with a sedition case on Monday by a lawyer in Bihar as he claimed that the gesture of Sidhu was tantamount to insulting the Indian Army.

“I have urged the court to book Siddhu under IPC sections 124 A, 153 B and 504 for hurting the nation’s sentiments and order for his arrest,” he said.

The cricketer-turned-politician has been under attack by his boss Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh as well as the opposition.

The Indian government had given Navjot Singh Sidhu go-ahead to attend Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony as prime minister of Pakistan.
