ISLAMABAD: Newly sworn-in MNA and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry apprised on Monday that his party has decided on all matters pertaining to the government including new cabinet.
Ahead of the inaugural session of the 15th National Assembly, Fawad was speaking to the media men outside the Parliament, and said “We have requested the opposition to [start] a new tradition and work with the government.”
“The nation has banked its hopes on Imran Khan, and we have also put our trust in him,” PTI leader remarked.
PTI vice president Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that raising objections is the right of opposition parties and we will welcome their role. “PTI will do its best to deliver on the public’s expectations,” he added.
“We will work day and night to resolve the country’s problems,” he vowed.
Today, outgoing speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, presided over the inaugural session of the 15th National Assembly, administered the oath to the newly elected members of the parliament.
PTI chairman and prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani and PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif were among those who took the oath.
Mr Bhutto-Zardari took the oath as member of parliament for the first time, whereas his father returned to the house after more than two decades.
