ISLAMABAD: After a phone call from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, Jahangir Tareen immediately prepared to fly to Karachi in order to meet MQM-P delegation to win the number game in the national assembly.
PTI leader will reach Karachi shortly where he will hold a meeting with MQM-P delegation. PTI has earlier invited MQM-P to form a coalition government with them in the center.
According to sources, former governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has also reached MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui today. A delegation of PML-N in Muhammad Zubair’s supervision will meet MQM-P leaders at 3:00 pm today. The agenda of meeting is to seek MQM-P’s support in the national assembly, as per ARY sources.
However, Khalid Maqbool has made it clear that his party is still indecisive about joining hands with any party. The pivotal strategy of MQM-P will be announced after the meetings with PTI and PML-N delegations.
Earlier today, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI claimed to have acquired the required number of members in the Punjab Assembly to form its government in the province.
According to party leader Fawad Chaudhary, the next chief minister of Punjab will be from the PTI.
Sources said that Chaudhary Shujaat will announce support of eight of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) MPAs to the PTI sometime later today.
The PTI says it has now support of 150 members in the Punjab Assembly to establish its government in the province, thus pushing the PML-N on the opposition benches.
