PCB, UAE keen to find solution to PSL-4 schedule row

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in constant touch with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) board to find a solution to the issues arose recently that would hamper the PSL matches organisation and marketing in the UAE.It has been learnt that PCB COO and some other officials have been tasked to bring the matter at ease and they are in regular exchange of phone calls and emails to find a solution.The PSL organising committee and the PCB has urged the UAE to keep the January to March slot open and also minimize conduct of other leagues. The PCB wants the Emirates Cricket Board not to hold schedule any other league at least 30 to 40 days before the start of the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).Both the PCB and UAE authorities are keen on reaching a mutually agreeable solution regarding the PSL. Both boards seem to be progressing in the right direction, with the possibility of the Emirates T20 League being organised from December 19, 2018 to January 10, 2019. That will leave a gap of more than 35 days till the start of PSL-4 that is expected to begin in late February.In another development, the PCB is also weighing options of holding the opening ceremony, the play-offs and final in Pakistan.The PCB are also looking for another neutral venue outside the UAE like Malaysia as an alternate venue but that may have empty stadium because interest of locals is very less in the sport and there is not enough Pakistanis settled there. The Board has also called a meeting of the PSL governing board on June 22 to finalise several pressing issues.
