KARACHI: An experienced coach Siddiq Sheikh has been named as chairman of technical committee for the Classic Football League (CFL) which will be held here in August.
The organisers said on Wednesday that Pakistan’s only pro license-holding coach Shehzad Anwar will serve as deputy chairman of the committee which also has Sajjad Mehmood, Mohammad Habib, Nouman Ibrahim, Asgher Khan Anjum, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Essa and Ghulam Shabbir as members.
Meanwhile, the organisers have also announced a three-member selection committee under the chairmanship of Shehzad Anwar which will pick talent from across the country. Pakistan’s assistant coach Sajjad Mehmood and Mohammad Habib are its members.
“We will try to ensure 100 percent transparency in the selection of the young lot for CFL,” Shehzad said. “We will hold trials throughout Pakistan to hunt top talent,” he added.The committee will select players for diamond and emerging gold categories while the platinum category will comprise players who have represented Pakistan.
